What is IndigE-girl Comedy
IndigE-girl Comedy is a non-profit Indigenous organization based on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. Since 2021, it has been providing performance, mentorship, and networking opportunities for Indigenous queer, non-binary women, and those who identify as women. Rooted in culture and healing, IndigE-girl Comedy recognizes comedy as a form of medicine in Indigenous communities. Over four years of programming, the network has hosted multiple sold-out shows across Canada—including Vancouver, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Whitehorse, and Toronto—and internationally, inspiring more Indigenous women to create and perform their own comedy.
